Using ten frames helps us to understand teen numbers. They're also good for addition and subraction too.
There was a new member of Y1 this week and we had to feed him take aways!!!
The Y1 children have been enjoying subtraction challenges in the maths area this week.
As an extra treat on Children in Need day, the Y1 children spent some time with Y6. They worked very hard to complete maths challenges set by the Y6 children on the theme of 'money'.
Y1 children decided to open their own cafe in the maths area this week. They've had lots of fun writing menus, thinking of prices, taking orders and making food with playdough, numicon, buttons and conkers!
Year One have been using pipe cleaner bead sliders to help them to learn their number bonds to 10 this week. They also came in handy for our addition worksheets.
