A Stone Age Experience
As an introduction to our new history topic, we participated in a Stone Age morning with Rob. It was so exciting to learn about the Stone Age; light fires with flint stone; bake bread on a campfire and eat it! Plus, as an extra special treat, we were allowed to taste insects!!!!
Zoolab Workshop
P4 were lucky enough to be visited by a range of wonderful creatures from Zoolab. We held an African Giant Millipede; a snake and a tortoise. We were also allowed to look closely at gerbils, frogs and a huge tarantula!
Zoolab is an ethical educational group which offers educational, hands-on learning experiences.
Trip to Tullie House - WW2 Workshop
In English lessons, Primary 4 children have been studying the novel, Goonight Mr Tom. We visited Tullie House, in Carlisle, to learn more about local life in WW2. It was an exciting day where we learned about evacuees; explored the museum; performed WW2 plays and examined a range of items from WW2. The day enable children to learn many facts for their story writing and also helped them appreciate the importance of Remembrance Day.
