  • Sports Day 2022

Wed 13 Jul 2022 Mrs Harrington

This year we enjoyed our sports day at MSport. A very well done to our winning team (Yellows), with second place being awarded to the Green Team.

A fabulous day which was supported so well be friends and family. We thank MSport for hosting and a huge well done to the children for showing such perseverance and sportsmanship. The support in which they showed each other was noticed by many - we couldn't have been more proud of our super athletes.

Mon 11 Jul 2022 Fiona Taylor

Year 6 pupils have been to Kong Adventure Centre in Keswick today as an end-of-year treat.

    The activities they completed were:

    1) Escape Room - did they manage to work together as a team of nine to rescue the stricken climber in less than an hour?

    2) Krazy Kong - how did they manage to climb up a variety of climbing walls with child-friendly belay lines?

    3) Bouldering/Caving - how did they manage to move through the deep, dark cave?

All three teams managed to conquer the escape room - the fastest team was in 50 mins.Climbing was great fun  and plenty of surprises who overcame their initial fears and completed the caving challenge!

  • Cyclewise Bikeability Week

Mon 11 Jul 2022 Fiona Taylor

The pupils in year 6 have completed their Cyclewise test after spending a week training with Adrian and Robin. The weather improved as the week went on from a very wet start on the Monday. Learning to cycle safely in wet weather is very important when you live in the Lake District so rain didn’t stop play!

They all enjoyed the sessions and were pleased to be awarded the certificates and badges.

Take care everyone when you are cycling and remember the rules that you have been taught.

  • Rotary Speakers’ Competition

Wed 06 Jul 2022 Mrs Fish

Last night, Lucy Rowlands represented the school in the Rotary Speakers’ Competition. Five schools took part and all the children were presented with a trophy at the end.

The children chose one of the following titles for their speech:

    · The Queen's Platinum Jubilee and what it meant to me

    · The person I would most like to be and why

    · My dream job

    · If I could make one positive change about the world I live in it would be…….

    · If I could have one superpower it would be…

Four of the children chose 'My Dream Job' which was Lucy's choice too! She spoke clearly and entertained the audience with her dreams of Chocolate Tasting, Cricket and being a Doctor!

Well Done Lucy...  you made us all smile!
