  • Netballing Stars

Thu 20 Oct 2022 Mrs Harrington

Last week our Year 6 netballers took their first trip to Cockermouth School to compete against local Cockermouth schools. We were incredibly proud of the level of sportsmanship and determination shown. Participation in sports competitions will continue throughout the year with all Year 5 and 6 children competing at some point. Keep checking Latest News for updates!

  • Pumpkin Soup

Tue 18 Oct 2022 Mrs Smith

This morning, as part of our Investigate pathway, the children in Reception were looking at a pumpkin.  But not to make a lantern…no, we were making pumpkin soup!

Autumn is an awesome time to get out and about, and we wanted to find out about healthy foods, work collaboratively with each other, use lots of different tools and use our skills to make something tasty. After sequencing the pictures, to make sure that we did everything in the correct order, we were all set.

Mrs Bowness from the kitchen helped us with the preparation and showed Mrs Smith how to use our new induction hob.  Mrs Metcalf, Miss Rigg and Mrs Martin were very impressed with how well we all worked together.  Apologies that there are no pictures of us with the final product - we were all too busy eating!

  • Post from Uganda!

Fri 14 Oct 2022 Mrs Stanley

The children in Primary 4 were delighted today to receive a letter from a penpal at a school in Uganda. We’ve formed a link with Wellspring school in Kampala, Uganda and a few weeks ago we all wrote a letter to be given to a child there. These were sent via email and the headteacher there handed them out. The head teacher then emailed some lovely replies from the children there back to us. It was lovely seeing the excitement of the children in class today at receiving a reply. We’re really looking forwards to doing more with this special international link.

  • Collective worship in Primary 4

Thu 13 Oct 2022 Mrs Stanley

This week in our class four children planned and led our class collective worship. They encouraged us to think about how we can speak kindly to each other and be trustworthy friends. They did such a super job. We're taking it in turns and next week four different children have volunteered to lead the session.
