  • Outdoor Learning

    Wed 15 Jan 2020
A busy afternoon in Primary 1 today. Children (and teddies) wrapped up and enjoyed making the most of our outdoor learning area. We went on a worm hunt, made shelters & muddy meals for our teddies and enjoyed games around the fire. Children learned about managing real life risks while having lots of fun and a little danger!

During the session, he helped the children to identify how the animals adapted to their environments and he also shared the journey of Charles Darwin.

Autumn Term team point winners were rewarded with indoor golf fun today. The Red Team were taught about different golf clubs, learned how to putt and scored points on an inflatable (golf) dart board. What a lot of fun!

Plans have been made for our Spring Term reward. Who’ll it be?

  • A fascinating morning learning lots about Judaism at Tullie house

    Mon 06 Jan 2020 Mrs B Fletcher
On Wednesday 11th December, the Y2 children visited Tullie House for the morning to find out more about Judaism. They had talked about 'Shabbat' celebrations during Harvest time, so they were excited to learn even more about this interesting religion. The exhibition at Tullie House certainly didn't disappoint! There were stories to listen to, artefacts to handle, things to dress up in and games to play. We all left bursting with knowledge, thanks to Sally and Kit who led the session. Lots of discussion followed back at school and the children made a lovely thank you card, which has been posted out to the ladies at Tullie House.
  • The Reception children's Travelling Nativity Bag

    Mon 06 Jan 2020 Mrs B Fletcher
In the lead up to Christmas, the Reception children enjoyed taking turns to carry the "Travelling Nativity Bag" home for one or two nights. The bag contained a colourful story of the first Christmas, with a beautiful pop up final page. There was also a box of figures to play with, a candle to light and an optional prayer to say. A "Tales of the Travelling Nativity" book was also in the bag for parents and children to write comments, draw pictures and stick in photos if they wanted to. Judging by what I've seen in the book so far, the children have had a wonderful time sharing the contents of the bag with their families at home. Many thanks to the Reception parents for your cooperation with this.
