Meet our School Councillors!

What is the School Council?

The school council works to make improvements within the school, the local community and the wider world. We focus on the Sustainable Development Goals of the world and how these can interweave into our Curriculum Drivers.

Who are the School Councillors?

Every year we run an election campaign to vote in our new councillors. Everyone can apply and the two children from each class who receive the most votes become the new councillors.

This year we have undertaken the 'Super Kind' Award.

SuperKind has been designed to help teachers integrate active citizenship and charity within the wider curriculum and their classrooms. It’s never been more important to teach children agency, empathy and the other values that come from civic engagement. SuperKind is built around personal character development and active citizenship.

So far, we have witnessed children becoming more aware of their surroundings and what they can do to change things for the better.

Watch this space for more amazing social actions!

We have been raising awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals through projects in class. We invited parents and the community into school and the School Council explained how we can all contribute to the goals.

Sustainable Development Goal 14 - Life Below Water. We collected waste bottle tops to make this piece of artwork in a club after school.

We collected tins for the local food bank to support Sustainable Development Goal number 2 Zero Hunger.

The School Council are taking the lead in improvements to our Sensory Garden by planting bulbs and plants to support Sustainable Development Goal 15 Life on Land
