The Y1 and Y2 children enjoyed learning about the Jewish festival of Sukkot. Mrs Fletcher challenged them all to choose their own resources to make a mini sukkah. They had to remember to make sure the roof was made only from natural materials, with gaps in it so that the people inside could see the stars.
Mrs Fletcher invited a visitor from the local foodbank to come in and talk to us about 'Harvest' and the importance of being thankful for our food, We listened to the story of Jesus feeding 5,000 people. We found out where lots of our food comes from and we talked about giving thanks. We asked lots of questions about the foodbank and what they do to help people who are having difficulties. We then talked about what we can do to help in school and in our local communities. We're really looking forward to Stuart's next visit to our class in December, when we'll be exploring a new, Christmas related theme.
