Vocabulary
Learning new vocabulary is one of the key elements to allow children to explore new scientific concepts and talk about their learning. Our children know these as 'Rocket Words' which are different words our children learn as they move through school (using Developing Experts key vocabulary).
Our vocabulary lists also provide teachers with tools to refer to previous learning by providing children with words they have already learnt and allows them to build on previous knowledge and move forward.
Working Scientifically - Using Bloom Taxonomy in Science
We build Bloom's Taxonomy into our curriculum design and progression to encourage higher-order thought in our students by building up from lower-level cognitive skills as they go through units and as they move through the school.
