History in the Early Years at Bridekirk Dovenby School provides opportunities to expand our children's knowledge and understanding of events, people and changes in the past and develop their investigative skills. We focus on observations, questioning skills, presenting explanations of findings and generating ideas.
These skills prepare our EYFS children for the transition into Key Stage 1 history.
During our visit to Wordsworth Grasmere, we experienced life as it would have been for William Wordsworth during the early 1800’s. Visiting his home and seeing how he would have cooked, where he slept and wrote his famous poems was really interesting. We had lots of fantastic discussions all about this back at school.
