The children in Primary 4 are currently entered in to a local competition, called Bright Stars, which is aimed at all primary schools across Cumbria. We have been given a business mentor, Mr Askew, from Armstrong and Watson plus £50, with which we have to set up a business enterprise and run it successfully for 8 weeks.
The children are all extremely enthusiastic and have organised themselves into Management, IT, Finance and Marketing teams. This project is really helping us to build leadership and entrepreneurial skills as well as enabling us to build links with local companies.
Our amazing business idea is to professionally record, produce and sell CDs of the Bridekirk Dovenby School Choir. We are also going to run a large concert with Flimby Male Voice Choir at the local church.
Any money we make will be shared between our chosen charity, CFM Cash for Kids, and school funds therefore this is a very worthy cause.
We really hope that you will support our business venture by ordering one of our fantastic CDs (see order form) and purchasing a ticket for the forthcoming choir concert at St. Bridget's Church, Bridekirk, on Wednesday 28th February. Tickets can be ordered by contacting the school office: admin@bridekirkdovenby.cumbria.sch.uk
If you would like to follow our progress then please read the online blog which will be updated weekly:
