Election Fever at Bridekirk Dovenby School
With the 2024 General Election on the horizon, children in Primary 5 are deepening their knowledge and understanding of how the democratic process works. They are having great fun learning about elections and democracy - which is one of the British values. Our school council, which is elected by the children, came into Primary 5 classroom today to outline to our ‘political parties’ their main ideas for ways to improve their school. The children have been divided into five political parties and are working away to gain votes in our mock election. They have a schedule of jobs that need to be done and are working on issues raised by the school council and also some of the ideas of the actual political parties.
