Human Circulatory System
Year 6 pupils have been learning all about the main parts of the circulatory system and describing the functions of the heart, blood vessels and blood. They then went on to learn how to keep their bodies healthy and how their bodies might be damaged - including how some drugs can be harmful to the human body.
The unit of learning also included working scientifically and looking at research into the relationship between diet, exercise, drugs, lifestyle and health.
The practical activities included in the unit were: making fake blood, absorption of nutrients through osmosis and actually walking the pathway blood moves through the heart.
