Yesterday, the whole school walked down to M-Sport to use their track for a sponsored run. This event was to raise money for our new school library!
The children were AMAZING and worked together to complete as many laps as possible; each lap was 1.5km in length. The children (and staff) ran for one hour and impressed me with their sense of fun, motivation and resilience even in the wet! 💦
Hopefully, we will raise enough money to refurbish our computer suite and convert it into a library.
'Well Done', everyone and a big thank you to FOBDS for their help and to M-Sport for allowing us to use the track.
On Tuesday, Paul Rose came to school to support children and staff with spiritual development.
P2 and P4 spent time in the sensory garden using their senses to connect with nature. The children and staff were challenged to take time to stop, use their senses and really notice all that is going on in our immediate environment.
Teachers are planning to make time to Connect, Reflect and Act in order to promote awe and wonder.
Last month, some children from year 6 entered the UKMT Junior Mathematics Challenge. They commented that some of the questions were quite tricky but they worked through each and every one of them in the hour allocated to complete 25 questions.
We were all pleased when we found out that we had been awarded: three silver certificates, four bronze certificates and three participation awards.
Well done to everyone who took part.
