On Wednesday morning, we gathered together in the hall to listen to some of our pupils play their musical instruments.
Mr Hunter-Brown led the guitars and other children volunteered to play too. You can listen to some of their magical music following the link below!
Some of the videos are too large to upload to this site - sorry!
In our assembly this week we had lots to celebrate...
Well done to all those children who have been in school everyday this academic year! 100% attendance.
Well done to those who volunteered to take part in our Music Assembly yesterday even though they don't receive an instrument lesson in school!
Well done to all those who love to read books... in school and at home!
Finally, we congratulate Barney Kinghan for achieving the Joyce McDonald trophy as one of our year five pupils who is a fine example to others; diligent in his work and kind to others in all he does. Well done Barney!
We were delighted to find out that one of the photographs we entered for the Cockermouth Rotary competition had been judged the winning entry.
The photograph will appear in the 2025 Rotary calendar which will be sent all over the world to relatives and friends who know and love Cockermouth.
Cockermouth Rotary make well over a thousand pounds from the sale of the calendars which they distribute to local charities and we are delighted we could help them.
Well done Amelia - keep up with this hobby.
Primary 3 attended the Athletics tournament at Netherhall School. Our 3 girls got 1st in 800m, long jump and high jump. We had an amazing day taking part in track and field events.
Thank you to Thirlmere Resilience Trust for visiting us last week and teaching the yr1 and 2 children about the importance of plants. This new learning helped reinforce the learning we had been doing in science and helped us to understand the necessity of wildflowers for insects. We planted wildflowers in the Sensory Garden, identified moths and released the moths to feed on our new plants.
Another fabulous sports day! Monday’s afternoon was a great success. Bridekirk children participated with enthusiasm, showing great teamwork and sportsmanship. Special congratulations to the yellow team for their outstanding performance and victory! Thank you to everyone involved, it was a wonderful day filled with fun and excitement!
Year 6 have entered some wonderful photos they have taken displaying images of SUMMER! We all need to be reminded that it is actually summer; we hope you like them! They certainly cheered me up...
On Sunday, some of the staff and children attended Reverend Christina's Priesting Service. The service was taken by Bishop Rod and was a very joyous occasion! We send our best wishes and look forward to Reverend Christina visiting our school very soon..
