P3 have been baking biscuits and adapting the recipe to improve it. We baked plain biscuits one week and then added lemon, cocoa and chocolate chips to make 3 batches of improved ones. We will choose our favourite and design some packaging, think about target audience and price them up.
We began the week with an assembly about Remembrance and why it is so important for us 'Not To Forget'. We thought about, and gave thanks for the people who help protect others now, and who have done so in the past. We remembered those who have been hurt or killed as a result.
Today we observed a two minute silence on the playground and throughout the week children have been engaged in lessons based around remembrance.
In year five we’ve been loving our space science topic. We made this model of our solar system using balloons and paper mache. It was great fun and has helped us think about the size and order of the planets. We also got out in the playground and used our bodies to learn how the earth and moon move around the sun to create day, night and seasons. It was a good workout, particularly if you were the moon and had to try and orbit the earth as it was also orbiting the sun!
The children in primary 5 have been learning about Islam religion last half-term and they were very lucky today to have a visit from Imran. Imran is a Muslim living in Bolton and he delivered an engaging lesson about ‘What is it like to live in Britain when you are a Muslim.’
He told the children about some of the fundamental beliefs and practices of Islam and also about some famous people who are Muslim and live in Britain.
He then showed a video of the temple that he visits in Bolton and told them all about some religious objects
Today, the Fire Service came to visit and teach us how and when to use CPR. We learnt a different ABC ensuring we keep ourselves safe too.
KS1 learnt about all the different roles the fire service have - they don't just fight fires!
Today, we held our Harvest Celebration outside on the playground. Each class created a piece of harvest art work which they offered to St Bridgets's Church. Please click on the link below to see the artwork in situ

Reverend Thompson talked to us about the importance of sharing what we are blessed with, rather than hiding it away or being greedy. A map of the world with food placed on it, showed the children where some of the produce in our shops comes from.
Each class sang a song to give praise for our harvest and thank God for the blessings he provides.
P3 designed their own glasses and wrote descriptions about them. Inspired from the book Oliver and the Seawigs. See our class page for all pictures
The Year 6 children are enjoying a week of afternoon swimming lessons. By the end of Year 6 we hope that each child will be able to swim 25 meters. The children are thoroughly enjoying their swimming sessions and will most certainly be ready for the half term break.
After a short break from inter-school sports we were able to take part in a Netball competition at Cockermouth School. After three matches we got through to final, which we won!
A huge well done to our tremendous team.
