Exciting news from the Year 5 science group!
Last week we followed some instructions and took a clipping from a Geranium plant.
Today there are some signs that some roots are actually starting to grow! Hopefully soon they will be long and strong enough to replant.
Well Done Year 5s!

I just wanted to send a little photo of Amber (p3) and Leo (reception) of an achievement they have been recognised for out of school.
Two Bridekirk children from Dearham often take litter picking snips with them when out walking the dog. One day when they were out, a lady from the council saw them and spoke to them commending the good work they were doing in helping to keep the village tidy.
Following this, a member of Dearham Parish Council dropped a little gift off to say thank you.
We are very proud of their achievement and community spirit.
The Loveliest Spot
My loveliest spot is a secret,
and so I’m not eager to share,
if I were to tell you the place and location,
too many would soon travel there.
The loveliest thing about it,
is the only other living things,
are Sticklebacks and Minos in the river,
Ravens and Buzzards with soring wings.
We collect wood to make a fire,
when Grandad comes to this special spot.
“Grandad is this enough wood?’’
‘’Yes, that looks like allot!”
When I’m in my special place,
I can smell all the pretty flowers.
Daffodils, fox gloves and blue bells,
In spring we play there for hours.
As I sit by the banks in the long, tickly grass,
surrounded by God’s creation.
This is special, its my secret
Could this just be my imagination?
